Adventure Leisure Vehicles Case Study

Upgrading a Showroom Floor

With new models arriving daily, Spring is always a busy time at Adventure Leisure Vehicle. From their base in Old Tebay, Penrith, they pride themselves on being an official UK dealership for leading caravan and motorhome brands including Eriba, Hymer Campervans, Buccaneer, Coachman, Landseer, Knaus and T@B. Gearing up for another busy and successful season has also seen some work required on their 25,000 sq ft showroom.

With a collection of cool camping vehicles on display, the amount of foot traffic through their showroom facilities had taken its toll on the painted concrete floor, with the usual peeling and pitting leaving the floor in need of some attention. Adventure Leisure Vehicles Sales Director Michael Hold explained;

“Adventure Leisure Vehicles provide new, innovative and luxurious caravans, camper vans and motorhomes to customers far and wide, with many visiting our showroom here in Cumbria. We house many of our models inside our large showroom, which must create a great environment to complement the fantastic vehicles we offer. We have a central walkway through the showroom, and historically have painted the concrete floor. However, we’ve found this needed frequently repainting, with frequent footfall causing the paint to peel and not look how we wanted it to”.

Searching for a more permanent solution to keep their showroom looking professional, Michael contacted Ecotile after conducting thorough online research.

Focussing on Aesthetics

“I’d not used interlocking floor tiles before, so Ecotile offered to visit us and bring along some samples. Seeing the tiles first-hand, and being able to see how they’d look in the showroom was really useful and helped us ensure they were going to enhance the aesthetics of the showroom.

We decided on Ecotile graphite interlocking floor tiles and added yellow ramps to the edges of the walkway to ensure there aren’t any trip hazards for our customers and colleagues. They also look really good too, contrasting against the darker floor. We originally wanted a lighter colour, but Ecotile offered practical, transparent advice re the amount of traffic and cleaning and maintenance considerations, which helped us get the right tile and colour for our specific needs”.

Installation Became a Team Effort

Rather than using Ecotile’s installation service, the team at Adventure Leisure Vehicles decided to all get involved, helping to lay the floor themselves as a team effort. “The team here are all very hands on, Ecotile is straight forward to install and we enjoyed laying it as a team. It’s always rewarding seeing a project come to fruition that all the team have been involved in”.

Smooth Project Completion

Delivered within just a few days of the site visit, Michael concluded:

“We’re really delighted with the finished results; the flooring looks fantastic and creates a great base for our showroom. We were really impressed with the quick turnaround from enquiry to site visit and then delivery, all within a working week! I would highly recommend the Ecotile team.

We’re now all set to welcome more customers and help them choose their dream cool camping vehicle”.
